Overview
Official information regarding the Science test is at GED.com.

The Science test runs 90 minutes and is given as follows:
• approximately 35 questions
• 90 minutes
• no break
• content: reading comprehension, scientific experiments, numbers/graphics
• calculator allowed
• “scratch paper” in the form of a marker with a wipe-off board provided

A passing score is 145 (out of 200).

Like Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science places a lot of emphasis on comprehension of reading passages.  In general terms, the passages delve into biology, chemistry, physics, earth, and space.  Your ability to understand what you have been given to read is more important for answering questions than tapping into an encyclopedic memory.

The TI-30XS MultiView Scientific Calculator, the official calculator of the GED, will be needed for some questions in the Science test.

  1. Thank you so much! Your information is incredible!! I am currently working with a student who will be taking the science exam, but has been having difficulty answering questions that use scientific diagrams, tables, and presentations. I couldn’t finding the types of questions he needed to practice, but your site saved us. I know my student will improve his score by using your resources.
